General Information
Dei-Gratia.net is owned and operated by Anna Kirstin. It is technically classified as a personal domain which means it exists primarily for my own amusement. It has content that reflects my own interests. It states my own opinions. It houses my own thoughts. It showcases my own ideas, written work, and other miscellaneous things that interest me. It is the ultimate in narcissism.
Because it is a “personal domain”, it really doesn’t have anything that could truly constitute “visitor content“. In other words, besides my writing, this site holds nothing else but a few things that I've researched and posted to keep up with for myself -- otherwise I'd misplace it somewhere and lose it.
This site is used as a creative outlet and as a learning experience. It is, and always will remain, a work in progress.
Technical Information
- Registered in September 2008 by Site5 which also hosts the site.
- The site is hand-coded in XHTML, PHP, and CSS using Wordpress as a CMS.
- Plugins used include: Exec-PHP, Simple Contact Form, and Broken-Link-Checker
- All coding and scripting are done by me unless otherwise credited.
- Pages should validate as valid CSS and XHTML and are Section 508 compliant.
As stated in my “Note to Reviewers” and my “Accessibility Statement”, I do not generally design layouts that are graphic heavy. Layouts are designed with functionality in mind. I can only hope it looks semi-acceptable in the process.
Name Information
Dei Gratia is a Latin term that means “By the Grace of God.” Dei-Gratia.net was chosen to be a play on my name. My name Anna Kirstin translates to “Grace of God”. Anna means “Grace” and Kirstin, a derivative of Christian, means “Of God.” Dei-Gratia and By Anna Kirstin both break down to mean the same thing.
I didn’t want to use my real name as a domain name, but I wanted some thing to describe me. What better than a play on words?
