Riddle 01

How strange it is in the game called life
That the weak could turn so strong,
Not to need the help of knights in armor,
To care for whom their heart belongs.
Swear to me to love, honor, and protect
Or life will never be the same.
For men and horses can not check,
That which nature can not tame.

Answer:

Queen in the game of Chess

The verse gives clues using the words “game”, “knights”, “horses”, and “check” - all of which refer to the game of chess. The line “weak could turn so strong” refers to the fact that a female, who is generally regarded as the weaker sex, is the one of the strongest pieces on the board. “To whom their heart belongs” and “Swear to me to love, honor, and protect” is referring to the relationship the Queen has with the King. “Can not tame” is a reference to the fact that the Queen can move in almost any direction on the board - which can make her both dangerous and unpredictable.
