Riddle 04

What is there in common
Between laughing and crying?
For the very same link exists
Between living and dying.

Consider a door on which you knock
That suddenly open swings.
For it's in the bird that flies
And in the child that dreams.

The link like a chain continues
In the heart with tears still to shed.
It's certain in there is much to finish,
Within a wounded soul that's bled.

In life it's strange how emotions
Can by words be evoked.
But only when you can set them aside
That meaning will be uncloaked.

Answer:

Verbs

You have to stop thinking along the lines of an emotional or spiritual connection. The poem asks the difference between laughing, crying, living, and dying. They are all verbs. Knocks, swings, flies, dreams, continues, shed, finish, and bled are also all verbs.
